Jim Hagstrom, Savanna Designs received the 2009 Friend of the Environment Award. Hagstrom's design work has been on the cutting edge since the early 1970's when he took a different track than the leading professionals of the time. His goal was to use native plants in both the corporate and private landscape in the same manner we use cultivated plants. His work over the years has refined that design concept and he has influenced the entire landscape profession in Minnesota and surrounding states.

Todd Bachman Award for Innovation in Horticultural Business

Nominations are now being accepted for the second annual Todd Bachman Award for Innovation in Horticultural Business.

Academic Awards/Scholarships:

The goal of the MNLA Academic Awards program is to honor the academic achievements of students who have chosen the nursery and landscape industry as their career choice. Furthermore, the program aims to encourage students to stay in this career path and to help them make connections with nursery and landscape employers who are MNLA members. By partnering with interested member companies, over 25 awards are presented every year to deserving students. This year, the following MNLA member-businesses have partnered with MNLA to provide scholarships to the following schools:
